Ruth May, Chief Executive of the Mid Essex Hospital Trust, said:
“It’s a delight and an honour to be here today to celebrate the structural completion of our new hospital wing. It is wonderful to see the building come out of the ground and to know that we will have a new hospital in which to treat our patients in just over one year’s time. I would like to thank all of my colleagues who have been involved in this project for all of their hard work and dedication in making this happen, especially David Bullock – the former chairman and Andrew Pike - the former chief executive who were responsible for driving this project forward.”
Lionel Christolomme, Managing Director of Bouygues
“Achieving structural completion in such a short space of time is the result of a fantastic team effort and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us to reach this important stage of the hospital’s development including the Trust and our partners on the project (Ecovert FM, HSBC), our site team and subcontractors, the local community and the wider stakeholder community.
“Team work is integral to the success of this project and I have no doubt that the excellent working relationships we have on the project will be sustained throughout the remaining 15 months of construction and beyond, when we will hand over a fantastic new hospital to raise the level of future care for Chelmsford and Essex.”
