Bouygues Construction employees show remarkable generosity towards earthquake victims in Haiti

Following the earthquake, which struck Haiti on 12 January 2010, Bouygues Construction took immediate action, donating €70,000 to CARE and also pledging to match all donations made by its employees (€1 donated by an employee = €1 donated by Bouygues Construction).

Thanks to its local experience (CARE has been working in Haiti since 1954, with teams largely made up of national staff), the organisation’s response to the disaster has been rapid, effective and geared towards the needs of the most vulnerable. With your donations, alongside those of other companies, CARE has been able to offer support to 100,000 people, distributing food, water purification tablets, mattresses, tents, hygiene kits and childbirth kits.

CARE has sent 21 expatriate staff to Haiti, including 2 from France, to deal with the exceptional situation. The teams are already getting ready to face the challenges of reconstruction, side by side with local residents.
